Kuşadası Hostel Apart CAVE OF ZEUS Activities
On the left side of the entrance gate of Dilek Peninsula National Park, 200 m. it is inside. The entrance to the cave is provided by a 20-meter slate (slippery) stone path. Due to the name of Dilek National Park, those who come to the trees on the right and left of the cave tie pieces of cloth for Wish.
When you enter the cave, you seem to see the face of that majestic God Zeus. The water at a depth of 10-15 meters has almost turned this place into a pool. The Blue Green colored water has turned into a bland mineral water with a mixture of fresh water from the mountain and salt water from the sea. The cave, which turns into a swimming pool for the local youth in the winter and tourists in the summer, is magnificent. The last stop of the teams going on safari from Kuşadası is always the Cave of Zeus. They relieve the tiredness of the whole day by swimming in the cool waters of the cave.
In mythology, when Zeus, the god of the sky, angered his brother Poseidon, he took refuge in this cave, rested and washed in order to wait for Poseidon, who had raised the waves and turned the sea upside down, to calm down by raising his triple pitchfork. Güzelçamlı residents and foreign tourists swim here just like Zeus on days when the sea is very choppy and the weather is not suitable for the sea, and they breathe that mythological air.
